Even in December, the pool water is flowing in the Town of Blue Mountains, Thornbury, and Clarksburg. Last week we filled a brand new pool liner with fresh, clean water. It might be our last pool fill of 2025, but it’s a good reminder that we’re ready whenever you are.
Can You Really Fill a Pool in Winter?
Yes. As long as the ground is accessible and the equipment is safe to use, we can deliver water year-round. Many homeowners choose to replace liners or finish construction late in the season, and a proper fill helps protect the liner and avoid damage.
Winter fills also help:
- keep a new liner tight and in place
- prevent wind or frost from shifting the structure
- get ahead of spring rush
- finish projects before the holidays or early January

What to Watch For
Cold weather doesn’t stop us, but it does require a bit of planning.
Here’s what helps the job go smoothly:
- Clear access to the pool area
- No ice on stairs, walkways, or the driveway
- A hose path that isn’t frozen or blocked
- A quick check that pumps and skimmers are shut down for winter
If you’re installing a new liner, your pool company will normally tell you when the water needs to go in. We work directly with many local installers, so timing usually lines up without any trouble.
